Hi, ok so I've been using my laptop on someone else's wifi, probably my neighbors for about 2 months, suddenly today there is a wifi connection called "default". What kind of connection is this?

    P.S. I don't have a wireless router myself.

Because you're getting unauthorized access to whomever's network you're leeching off of, and it's the "unauthorized" part that makes it (generally speaking) illegal. By way of analogy, if your neighbor leaves his front door unlocked, it's still trespassing if you walk inside without getting your neighbor's permission first, and it's still grand larceny if you walk off with his big-screen tv.
