    I have a wired connection from my modem to my router to my dell lattitude 610c laptop. I can not get the internet to come up. I also have a voip phone, it connects fine and my wired desktop is connected just fine. Something I believe is wrong with the network setting for my connection. I have tried to have my internet provider help me but without bringing in my laptop they are unable. My Juvio tech support is not available. I am snowed in and going nuts here. I need it now and have not been able to get in since yesterday. If anyone can help and has the same with 2000 professional please help.

    Have you enabled "local area connection" in the start menu?

    (Start > Connect To > Show all connections > Right click Local area connection > Hit enable)

    are you using PPPoE or PPPoA..if it is PPPoE then you need to enter your username and password into the modem on one of its setup pages for you to connect properly... do you know the ip address of the modem? i think that should be the first place to start if you havent done so already.

    let us know

    pb,out.

    Thank you for your suggestions. I was so frustrated I waited for Juvio tech support to help me for two days and did not get the help. My volcano provider tech could not help me either over the phone. So I ended out doing it myself. I had to actually go into my network connection and uninstal my 3com ethernet controller then I rebooted. When it booted up it found it and it worked like a champ. So easy and I have been down for 3 days. Thanks again, thought I would post this just in case someone else has the same problem you will know what worked for me. :eek:

    Great input Tenderspirit~!

    I'm sure your information will help others, glad to see you have everything up.

    I once had my internet down for over a week because my ISP Bell Sympatico here in Toronto Canada messed with me.

    Someone didn't hook up the switch or something for my dsl to work at their headquarters, even though it said it was connected in my "folder".

    Those bastardos.

    Cheers,
    Mike
