I need to buy an n router and I was wondering if anyone tried the DIR-655. Is it a good router? Or is there better? The DIR-655 seems to be faster than the WRT300N feature-wise.
The WRT300N-CA is Up To 12X Faster Than Wireless G. The DIR-655 is 14X Faster than 802.11g and cheaper.

What do you think which is better, OR is there a better than all of the above...

    Thanks

I installed one for someone, and it has worked very well for the last couple of months. It's only been running for about 3 months, so I can't comment on any longevity problems, but it has been solid. Got very good coverage in a large house, with very good signal strength in all but one very remote room.

I haven't used any other N device, so I can't make a comparison, but the 655 is a good router, IMO. One big advantage that I do see over the 300N is that the 655 is a gigabit router, where the 300N is only 10/100. Of course, this is only important if you are planning on using the ethernet ports.

    Own it.

Works well, nice firmware / control panel. Easy port routing, good logging, impressed in general.

I've had my DIR-655 since Feb. I've never had a let down what-so-ever.

I upgrade from a Linksys WRT54G (can't remember the rev but it was OLD) because I was loosing my connection all the time.

Not only do I get an 'Excellent' connection, I also get the beneifit of Wireless-N and gigabit ports.

    Mike.

How about a Linksys WRT350N? It's Gigabit and has an option for external storage.

How is the Asus WL-500W compared to the DIR-655?
All I know is the Asus has more features (2usb ports supports printer sharing and external HDs, WPA2-PSK,AES. but non gigabit). Pricewise they're quite similar so that isnt a contention point. Anyone here think the Asus is a good buy?
