First off let me say. I hate the blue bright LED status lights, so bright you can't tell what function they are illuminating. Useless. It's not stylish, easy to read, etc. My now retired DL-634M 108G Mimo had a better LED Set. Sad when manufacturers don't pay attention to the little details, and this is a big detail! Anyhow end rant.

I bough the router to take advantage of my MBP's N card. So far All my devices except my Asus 696 PDA (b/g unit) were able to connect just fine in "Mixed Mode b-g-n". I had to change the setting to "G Only" to get all my devices and PDA to connect. I am using the latest firmware 1.05. Does anyone know how to get around this or fix this? I am also using WPA/2 Auto PSK security.

So far the router works very well, better range and my intel abg card has yet to disconnect/reconnect. The user interface and options are also good.

11n I still in draft mode. so things are not expected to work. If your FW supports the latest v2.1 draft it should be more compatiable. Just make sure to check frequenty for firmware updates, these are update on a regular basis.

Have you tried changing your wireless settings in os x? I have the same router and can change them in windows, but not os x for some reason. I'm just wondering if it works for you.

I don't have my MBP yet but will let you know. You might be able to download a program or something to do it. Not sure.

Had a similar problem recently when installing the 655 in a client's house. They had a wifi-capable remote control that would only connect if I had the router in b/g mixed mode, and even worse, the remote only supported WEP.

Rather than crippling the rest of the network, I just picked up an inexpensive Buffalo router and configured the remote to use that router only, plugged it into one of the LAN ports on the back of the D-Link, and put the D-Link back to N-only to take full advantage of the 2 n-capable laptops. MUCH faster and better range than I expected.

In my case, I don't think it was a problem with the router as much as it was an issue with the remote.

The router is working well, and I plan on getting the 655 for my house when my new laptop comes in. Also, I agree that the lights on the thing are way too bright. I will install mine in a closet, so it won't be a nuisance, but it almost lights up the whole closet, so it's not ALL bad. :D

When I bought the 655 back in Jan this year, it had green LED lights and were never too bright. I now have the new 655 sent as a replacement for my older 655 due to a problem and it has damn bright blue LEDs. I do love it though for fast, stable connection as well as the amount of options it has in the configuration screen.

Yea I think I am going to keep my Dlink 634M. If I upgrade my box that serves up media to N. I will switch to N and do what you outlined above.
