I have a dir-615 router which I was previously using as a repeater with DD-WRT installed. I need to send this to a dorm and was wondering what settings to use to keep it hidden so to speak. I already know about turning off the SSID, cloning the mac address from the PC, and using WPA2 encryption but anything else I can do to hide it as well as possible?

It'll be used to connect to a laptop in the dorm as well as possibly a smart-phone. The dorm does not have wifi so internet can only be used when the laptop is sitting on the desk where the ethernet port is.

Even if you hide the SSID, other people will still see it as "other network", but they would have to know exact ssid name to connect to it.
And set security encryption to AES.

Other then that, you dont have to change anything else.
