    I love DD-WRT.
I love AT&T when it works.
    I absolutely love the internet.

Problems is, DD-WRT doesn't want to give me internet.

    Setup: 2WIRE Gateway >LAN> Netgear WNDR330 running DD-WRT >WiFi> devices.

I set everything up, but the freaking connection through DD-WRT isn't giving me any internet.

Is your login credentials in the WAN/Internet of the dd-wrt? if so Clone your mac address into the router form the desktop that works when connected through 2wire.

    No, they are not.

Why is connecting a god dang router to this god forsaken modem/router thing so freaking complicated?

3 years ago when I was 15 I flew through processes like this on the old DD-WRT and I never had to do any highly complex shat like this.

Yes, routing is enabled, when I connect to the WAP created with DD-WRT it says I'm connected to the internet... but of course it doesn't work.

I feel like as I am getting older I get dumber, more impatient and that technology is poorly developed.

EDIT: FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!! I am PISSED. Now the internet doesn't even work on the laptop I was working on, ?
Seriously, this is bullcrap. How can the internet on that laptop just cease to work while I'm not even changing any settings?
I need help, fast, before I rip this POS out of the wall and burn it.

from the cmd prompt test to see if you can
    ping yahoo.com
    ping 209.131.36.159

also make sure you can ping your router gateway.

A lot of times you can ping an IP address outside of your lan. If this is the case the DNS server values are not correct or being passed to your pc's. A simple work around is hard code these values in.

Firewalls can and do block new networks, some prompt when detected others just block. So try turning off the FW for these simple test if nothing works.

I think I might know the answer to this...
But my answer works on the assumption that your 2WIRE device is also a router.

Remember that this is all speculation.

I'm working under the assumption that your 2WIRE device has a Private IP Address in the Class C range under RFC 1918 (192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255). Based on that, I assume your device has an IP of 192.168.1.1.

Now I know that the DD-WRT firmware has a default IP of 192.168.1.1.

I assume both devices have DHCP enabled. Now with this in mind, here's your issue:

You've got 2 gateway devices, both with an IP of 192.168.1.1. Instantaneous conflicting IP addresses. What's more is your devices are trying to get an IP address and never will because of the conflicting IP addresses of the two gateways.

Now once again, keeping in mind that I'm working from an assumption because this may not be the issue at all, but it won't cause problems if it is not and if it is, it will solve everything.

What you're going to need to do is disconnect the DD-WRT device from the 2WIRE device. Then, you're going need to connect to the DD-WRT device (presumably 192.168.1.1; you may possibly need to assign your PC a static IP), and change the LAN IP to something like 192.168.2.1 or, if you're feeling different, 10.*.*.1.

Then once again, connect your DD-WRT device to the 2WIRE Gateway. All should be well.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, It worked.

I guess I wasn't thinking about the IP conflict... I kept setting the DD-WRT to 192.168.1.2 which probably made no different at all HAHAHA

How do I turn off the wireless on my 2WIRE Gateway? It's being stupid and showing two no-named networks after setting it to not broadcast SSID.
NEVERMIND, it was staring me right in face.

Oh, I went to my PS3 and I get 50% with my Netgear WNDR330 running DD-WRT and my 2WIRE has 78%...

The main reason I am using my Netgear WNDR330 with DD-WRT is because the 2WIRE is known to have a major bug which makes it so that it doesn't use DHCP... Which was a hassle to enter IP's and Gateways manually all the time.
