The D-link site now says the DIR-855 can be pre-ordered at 2 sites but at the cost of $309, thats alot of money, for those who wanted to buy this router, I think the price waiting game has now started, from what the specs are (and they have changed lately), they are very nice but at the $300+ mark, I just wonder how much is it going to be when it hits the store like bestbuy or CC.

looks good as far as the spec sheet goes, but holy cow that's quite the price tag...for a router...

it would be nice to stream HD content, but I'll stick w/ my DGL 4500 (not that those are that cheap either...but it's l33t since it's for "gamers' haha j/k)

It is a media router so I can see them asking that price...for now, but its almost the same as the DIR-655 (which I love) except its branded as a media router with a display. I want them to release a G/N range boost antenna.

Well, it's got two radios in it unlike the DIR-655 and the DGL-4500. That's a big part of the price premium. But it also means you can do 5GHz and 2.4GHz at the same time.

To me the big question is if, unlike other dual-band routers so far, will you get good performance on 2.4GHz and 5GHz when they are running simultaneously. So far any dual-band router has totally tanked the 2.4GHz performance when 5GHz is up and running.
