So for some odd reason my internet just cut out. I go downstairs and see that on my router that the power button is on, but the Internet LED (3 circles) was just flashing, then the first computer LED was also lit up. So I unplug the router, and replug it. Nothing, I do the same with my modem, it was fine, still no internet to the router. So I try connecting directly to the modem, worked fine. So I have no clue what it could be. I have also tried different ethernet cables to connect to the router.

Check all cables are properly connected; esp. the cable between the Modem and the Router. For some reason the Router is not communicating with the Modem.

The unplugging trick should have worked. I say try unplugging everything again, this time reconnect the cables to the Modem first and let it boot properly for about a minute. Then reconnect the cables to the Router. Test again; if it still doesn't work then it might be time for a new Router.

I think it's time for a new router then, I just reconnected everything to no luck. Then connected my old Belkin router that isn't wireless no problems.

Any recommendations for a new wireless N router?

Well I wouldn't give up just yet. My final attempt would be to do a hard reset on the Router first, reconfigure it and then try again before calling it dead. There should be a little pin hole most likely at the back of the Router, hold it down for approx. 30 secs to do a hard reset.

Or you could do the hard reset and upload your old settings to the Router. But you'll need to back it up first. The first thing to do is to connect the ethernet cable between the Router and computer (Port 1 of Router), open a browser window and type the IP Address of the Router in the address section of the browser window. The IP for that Router should be 192.168.0.1 and then press enter. The default username should be admin (if not Admin) and the password should be password.

Look for a section that mentions Management/Backup and backup the settings file somewhere on the computer. Even though the Router doesn't have Internet access you should still be able to get into it's Config. pages to do this. After doing the backup, reset the Router by holding down that pin button in the back for approx. 30 secs. After doing this you might need to assign a manual IP Address to your computer. A short cut in doing this is to hold down the Windows Logo Key on the keyboard and press R while holding. Then type ncpa.cpl and hit enter. Right click your LAN Adapter and choose properties. Look for Internet Protocol in the list, select it and click Properties. Manually enter the IP Address 192.168.0.2 as the IP, 255.255.255.0 as the Subnet Mask, 192.168.0.1 as the Default Gateway and click ok and ok to apply.

Go back into the Router by typing 192.168.0.1 into the browser and go back into the Management section and restore the settings by pointing to the file you backed up. Try the Net again.

If you still have no joy then I would suggest getting any one of these top rated Wireless N Routers.
Just know that if your computer doesn't have a Wireless N Adapter, you wouldn't be able to connect at N speeds. And this is all local speed we're talking about not Internet speed.

I tried pressing the reset button, but nothing really happened at all. I'm quite disappointed, got this router and December.

How long did you hold it for?

Did you backup and restore like I was saying in my previous post?

I held it down for 30 sec, and I can't connect to the router's menu.

I see, well I guess it's time for a new Router then. Check out the ones in my post# 4 link. I've heard alot of raving about the DIR-655, it might be worth a try.
