I need simultaneous Dual Band capabilities so I'm forced to sell my new DIR-655 that I used all of 1 day...I want to replace it with one of these 2 routers....is the 855 really worth such a big price increase? I've done quite a bit of online research, but I like real world opinions from a variety of real users in real situations....Which one would you choose.....? I have 2 N laptops and one G laptop....and my house is about 2300 sq. ft. I'm open to other suggestions too....Thanks!

    Only one choice DIR-855.

DIR-855 = Dual band simultaneously (dual Radios)
DIR-825 = Dual Band either 2.4Ghz OR 5Ghz NOT both at once. (single radio that can do 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz)

Some other differences as well like Aerials, 3 for 855, 2 for 825

Not true. 825 can do simultaneous as well.

The DIR-825 is a simultaneous Dual Band radio 1 at 2.4 GHz and radio 2 at 5GHz, I have the 825 and it runs great.

Whoops my bad, I looked at the 625 specs the other day and got them muddled up

The 825 is very similar to 855 only differences are the 2 aerials with 825 vs 3 with 855 and the 855 has a LCD display to show what is going on.

With 3 antenna's you'll get slightly better coverage with less dead spots around the house office.

I'd go with the 855 just for the touch screen :)

I agree...I like the looks of the 855...but my only issue is it really is significantly more expensive....and the general online reviews don't tout the 855 as being much better at all than the 825....I'm cursing myself for overlooking the single band factor of my DIR-655 purchase :( What a waste of $90....makes me less inclined to pony up the extra cash for the "prettyness" of the 855 lol...

I had a DGL-4500 with the same OLED as the 855, after a couple of days, the OLED didnt matter anymore, sure it looks nice, but it ups the price, trust me on this, after a while you will forget you even have the OLED, I may have looked at the screen maybe 8 times for the duration of time I had it till I accidently crushed it, and after the little use of the OLED on the 4500, I opted for the 825 instead of the 855, although you may get better coverage at 5GHz with the third antenna, I found my 825 lacked at 5GHz then my 4500 did at 5GHz with three antennas.
