    I have a D-Link DIR-655.

I recently upgraded the firmware to 1.11 from 1.10. The connection with 1.10was very good. I am having problems with the 1.11 firmware.

There is one "802.11g" card and one Dlink DWA-142 USB card on the network and one computer hard wired to the router. Every 15-20 minutes I lose the connection with the DWA-142. I am not sure if this is relevant, but the home network icon in the Windows tray in the lower right hand corner says I am still connected. I am using the software that came with the Dlink DWA-142 to connect. Does anyone have any ideas what a solution might be?

Has anyone used Network Magic software to connecto to a network? Someone said I might get a better connection.

network magic is good for beginners to wireless networking....it helps repair connections, etc... but it's the shi_ts to uninstall>> it stays in your system tryin to load it's own drivers until you do a clean install......
if i were you, I'd just "reset" your router(reset button on back- save your settings first) >> >> download the 1.10 firmware again, upload(install) >> restore your setings and you should be good to go.

    Interesting.

I'm using the 1.11 beta firmware (2007/10/09) and haven't had a single issue with it.

Gonna go update to the later 1.11 firmware now...

I thought hitting the reset button reset the settings as well as the firmware. Would dowlading 1.10 and reinstalling it work as well withought hitting the rest button?

    it will

that's why i said save your settings

it's under system I think >> advanced or tools........

you save your current settings to a file on your pc

then after you reset the router, you can go back to the same menu, browse for the file, restore/upload it and you're good to go

i'm not at home so replying off the top of my "blond head" >> but the information is correct!!
