Finally decide to upgrade my router.

    I have Dell Inspiron 1720 with Intel 4965AGN and a Playstation 3.
I've had Verizon for the past 4 years, but I'm thinking about getting AT&T soon for 3.0Mbps connection.

Wondering which router will be better:
D-Link DIR-615 (which I can get for 40$ at bestbuy this week)

    or

D-Link 655 ... I'll have wait until the end of month to get it

The DIR-655, while not dual-band, has great range due the 3 antennas, and the has good speed with the 802.11 N and Gigabit ethernet.

By the way, I own one.

Another alternative is the DIR-625 which is in between the DIR-615 and DIR-655.
I, myself, have a DIR-655 and it's been great. No interference, but I believe that's because my neighbour's routers emit weak signals and don't really reach inside my house unless I'm directly beside a window on the second floor.

My parents' crummy HP laptop has a 4965AGN and is capable of connecting only at 130Mbps. A 5GHz router would make it 270-300Mbps I believe.
No drops whatsoever, it works fine. I just leave the router on 24/7 and reboot every couple of weeks. Wireless browsing/file sharing doesn't really stress the router imo. It only gets warm to the touch at most unlike the Linksys WRT160N that it replaced.

But from the other thread, it looks like you've got a WRT350. That should suffice until N is finalized. It would be sort of pointless to upgrade...unless you really need a new one anyway.

i wasn't really lookin to upgrade. i just like to try new things and gain some personal experience. =P
i was originally gonna trash my wrt350n and get the dir-655. this was BEFORE DD-WRT reflash tho. AFTER the DD-WRT reflash...my wrt350n felt like a whole different router. one that actually worked =P
i'm currently gettin 130mbps right now. i've read alot of reviews for the dir-655 statin that it was gettin 200+mbps, straight out of the box.
