    I've got acer 2012 + d-link 524 connected to the university's cable.
The noteook sees, connects and maintains pretty good connection.
But for some reason I am getting corrupted data: corrupted downloads, messed up html pages etc.
I am using 6th channel (other seem to cause even more problems), WEP is turned on.

It probably is not a notebook problem - I am using university WIFI just fine.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Try channels 1 or 11. 6 is generally the worst palce to be, so it's odd that it works better for you there. You may also have a failing router if you can connect fine to other devices. To test, you might want to borrow a friend's wireless router and try it at your location to see if the results improve.

Well, I have flashed in the latest firmware, tryed swithching channels, played with the security preferences, installed latest intel2200 drivers. it does not seem to help at all :( The major problem is that I am getting torn and corrupted JPG images and scrambled webpages. I would assume that this is a wireless router problem. As I said, my notebook works perfect within campus wi-fi network. Using an intel wi-fi software I see that the signal strength is excellent and signal quality jump from poor to excellent al the time. There are no other electric appliances in my appartment (only fridge and light bulbs :)) - therefore should be any interference.
Shall I go ahead and try to return the router?
