I have an external antenna - with reverse SMA plug - and a pigtail which does not have the right connector for the antenna but the other end is correct for the wireless card - an Orinoco with MC connector.

If I cut off the antenna connector and the corresponding pigtail end then neatly solder the coax together, would this degrade the signal by a significant amount? I've searched the web for the correct pigtail, but could not find any. I even spoke to a wireless connector supplier and they say what I'm trying to match is impossible.

    Thanks.
