I think I might have totally screwed up my laptop and need some major help! I have an hp pavilion ze4900 laptop. I created a wireless network at the house and have been using the home network on my laptop no problem except I had trouble connecting to any other wireless network. So following someone's stupid advice I uninstalled the broadcom software off of my computer and now I can't even connect to my own network. It finds my network but continuously stays on acquiring network address. It still shows the broadcom 802.11b/g wlan under my newtork adpaters in device manager but nothing under my program in control pannel. I'm really lost and have no idea what to do! Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have security enabled, a good starting point it to et connected without security, then turn the security back on.

So after you reinstalled the drivers it still has the same problem? The only sure way I know how to fix it -- backup your data -- and reinstall Windows.

Try system restore and back it out.

Set to open under wireless security settings. Don't recommend using it that way execpt for trouble shooting. Then set WPA backup.
