    Right, now I get it.
Still it's not an issue - your speed is OK (802.1ac), Windows seem to be unaware of this - possibly because 802.11ac hadn't been officially approved until Jan 2014.
It's not much of a surprise honestly - if you look into advanced driver settings of your 7260 (in device manager), you'll see that it doesn't give you choice of anything other than 802.11 a, b, g or mixes of those - not even 802.11n let alone 802.11ac in a card that's capable of both.

No 3x3 mini pcie half height or m2 NGFF WiFi card yet. I think there's one upcoming either Q4 2014 or in 2015. Just wait for "2nd Gen" 7260. Even in Windows 7, Windows can't differentiate between AC and N.

cbautis2 is spot on. No three stream AC modules so far. I also hoped to get one but in the end I needed more throughput so I went for 7260.

If you install the optional Intel software during a Custom driver installation the Intel WiFi Connection Utility will be installed.

Clicking on the Metro WiFi Connection Utility Tile will show your SSID connection and if the 5G SSID is AC

    In 2H 2015 Intel AC-8260 may offer 3x3?
