guys I finally pulled the plug and bought a NAS to upgrade my ageing NAS duo v1 however for the life of me I cannot copy the (1.8 gb) data between the 2 NAS

the older one is the NETGEAR NAS duo v1 and the new NAS is a QNAP 469l, the only way I can see the transfer is to use a windows machine in between the two ( which is giving me a "do not have permissions error "in the Mac mini), but that is not feasible, can someone either give me a link on how to transfer between the 2 using their technologies (and will not require a PC to do a cut and paste job)

I got 4 links from Google, however only one describes my problem but does not give a step wise approach to do the same. I am not at all Linux or very network savy so please be gentle :)

Sorry to be brief but I'm on holiday typing this from a hotel lobby. Check if your NASes support rsync and if it can be useful.

They do, but apart from clicking and applying the checkbox I an afraid, there are no new options to accept a replication of the folders ti the new NAS, you see the qnap has rsync and a NAS-NAS option but neither of them allow me to select a custom source and destination, and thus I am stuck with source being the qnap and the destination for replication the NETGEAR when infact I need this in the opposite
