I screwed up somehow installing a 2 PC network over a wired Switching Hub.
I cannot read the directions (Japanese) but I thought it would work easily.

Anyway, right now I just want to delete whatever I set up and start fresh.
    Any ideas?

    thanks gary

    Control Shift Escape works....

I should mention that when Control alt Delete brings up the Window Security "window" it does give me a tab to go into Task Manager.

I want to get rid of this Security Window.

    thanks gary

    Windows XP Pro not Vista.

The problem is it brings up the Windows Security box, it prompts me for a password on startup and some other things.
It works but this is a nuisance.

    This is a standalone PC!

I installed no software, the hub directions were in Japanese but has no software.

I just want to stop the network and these boxes from popping up.

    Hope that makes it clearer.

    thanks gary

On XP, go to the network port properties and uncheck microsoft network family should eliminate the login prompt.

You need to re enable the welcome screen (the blue Windows XP logon screen with Icon's for individual users)
    and Fast User Switching.

    1) Click on Start
    2) Click on Control Panel
    3) Double-click on User Accounts
    4) Click on "Change the way users log on or off"
    5) Check "Use the Welcome Screen" (note: this will also enable "Fast User Switching")
    6) Click on Apply Options
    7) Close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel
    8) The next time you reboot your computer, the classic login prompt will be used
