    Hello everyone!

Bit of a situation here, every time I connect to a WiFi connection, my laptop crashes it. Other devices/computers can connect to it no problem, but when I connect, it crashes it and prevents others and I from using it. From what I can observe it connects to it, causes it to crash, and it disconnects from it. Then it keeps trying to reconnect to it. Have to restart the router to allow others to connect with and get WiFi again.

My computer is a Sony Vaio Z VPCZ1290.

    Running Windows 7 64-bit.

    Updated my drivers.

    Thanks for any help!

I know this is obvious, but did you try uninstalling the WLAN driver, rebooting and then installing the latest version of the driver, whether that is Sony's or the manufacturer of the card.

The reason you Wifi broadcast probably stops working is probably because the WLAN and the router are in the process of negotiating for an IP etc and something bad happens on the laptop which may somehow be adversely affecting the router's ability to broadcast.

You might also consider see if your router has newer firmware as this may work to resolve the issue on the router-side.
