Do you have the firewall setup to allow remote access?

I ticked the "allow users to connect remotley to this computer" on the System Properties.
And the connection now is established....but it is prompting to type in the password and username....Which username and password shall I write. I dont remember I have inserted and passwords while configuring the remote desktop connection

    Thanks for your help!!

You have to create a user name and password in the computer that you want to take control of, you can't connect to a computer that doesn't have a user name and a password.

thanks a lot for the comments...

So I will have to add a username and a password on the computer which I'm going to control.

    Another question....
Can I use a remote printer from my laptop which is connected with another computer via a wireless communication without a network?

How can I edit my network name/ID, etc?

Thanks a lot for your attention...

If you are running Adhoc yes, but it qualifies as a network. As does any 2 pc tied together. You will have to turn on file and printer sharing, then share the printer. Then add a printer.

You need to set up a workgroup and enable file/printer sharing. Enabling the guest account will also help.
