I don't know if this will work so I am asking for opinions.

I'm would like to try to connect my x64 laptop via a HDMI to a Samsung 55" LCD HDTV and use it a a monitor.

In addition, I would load a wireless keyboard and mouse to the laptop and use it on a desk.

    Will this work

    Thanks

Thanks for the info, I have 1 other question about this.

I am assuming with this type connection the laptop can be placed anywhere
as long as it is on. Can coupled HDMI cables be used for distance.

to an extent, HDMI is a crappy standard for distance. if you only need 6-10 feet go with HDMI, up to 25 feet use the old VGA port if you have one. for long didtances look at something like this.

handy little gizmos and under $80.00

    OK thanks again

I have a 25 ft VGA cable and I think I'll try that. The only reason I said HDMI is for the digital picture effect.

Do you get a reasonable LCD screen using VGA, by that I mean color clarity.
