Ok So I have multiple problems that i believe are connected, but I'm not quite sure how they are or how to fix it.
Problem one: When I hover over the network icon it says Connection status: unknown and server execution failed. This shows when I am connected to a wireless network and not connected.
Problem two: In windows media player when I try to play any sort of music file I get "error message C00D11D2" I clicked the web help button when this appeared to learn more about the problem, but found the information not exceedingly helpful. Also I got this for the help site, but it doesn't make sense to me.
Problem three: When I try to play a video the sound is absent.
"This error might have been triggered by an error in another program or component of Windows. The following information describes the original error.
Original Error Code
Original Error Message
80070005
General access denied error."
This is the help page

-Additional information-
I have the Intel ABG card with the latest drivers.
I have the latest Microsoft updates (part of the problem?)
When I am watching a flash video like Youtube I get sound.
I also got a suggestion that the problem might have something to do with ActiveX
