So, I am having problems getting my R4000 built in broadcom wifi to connect to my wireless router. Is anyone aware of any problems with this? I tried downloading new drivers and software updates, but it didn't help. I can apparently connect on other networks (at least sometimes it says it's connecting to my neighbors, but I don't think they even have internet), but for some reason my built in Broadcom card will NOT connect to my Netgear WGT624 v2 router. I have tried taking off my encryption and making it an open network. Nothing works. . . It won't connect AT ALL to it. WHY?!?! Are they incompatible? Anyone have any suggestions (besides "buy a new router") or know of any issues regarding my situation? I am not technologically ignorant, but I won't claim to be an expert or advanced either...more intermediate... If it helps, I have a desktop computer running off another netgear wifi card that can connect to my netgear router, so obviously the router is working, and apparently the broadcom wifi card is working, why won't they connect to each other though? Please help, it's driving me nuts having to have an etheret cord plugged in!!!

Other than that, I totally love the computer thus far...

can u see the network from your notebook's wifi finder?

if so, do you have some sort of limit on how many IPs the wifi router can dish out?

My laptop has the broadcom network card and it connects to my wifi network through the netgear wgt624 without any problems...So I suspect that it might be some setting which might be amiss rather than a fault with the wifi card.

Are you trying to connect through the broadcom utility or the standard windows utility?

I uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled it again. I also found out that HP had installed some kind of software that interferes with the wireless card somehow, so I uninstalled that as well and now it will connect. Weird. . . thanks for the replies!
