    Hello everyone.

I recently bought a Chembook 4080. I installed Windows XP Professional and all of the drivers and software myself.

When I installed the Bluetooth software package I saw a message that said: "bluetooth device not found. Please verify that the bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on." and it gave me the option to continue installing the BT kernel and drivers.

After I rebooted the HEL80 I had the option to turn the Bluetooth on via the "Wireless Select Switch" applet that comes with the HEL80 and under Bluetooth in the "Devices" tab all that I see is "Bluetooth Enumerator" listed.

When I enable Bluetooth with the "Wireless Select Switch" applet it indicates that Bluetooth is enabled, yet if I try to open "Bluetooth Configuration" in "Control Panel" after a few moments a "Bluetooth Setup Wizard" message box pops up that says: "Bluetooth device not found. Please verify that your Bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on." I have the same problem if I use any Bluetooth software - it can't find the card!

At the suggestion of the Chembook technician, I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Professional on to the system (even though I strongly didn't want to do this!) and reinstalled all of the HEL80 drivers and software, but I am still having the same problem.

I also tried looking for the Bluetooth signal with a Bluetooth enabled PDA, but the PDA couldn't find the HEL80.

Unfortunately, the technician didn't know how to verify that the Bluethooth was actually on other than by what the "Wireless Select Switch" says (which could be suspect - being third party software). Does anyone know of any software that would be a little more helpful in diagnosing the problem?

    I appreciate any suggestions.

    Cheers!
