I am looking for a new laptop (cheap). I will do a VPN to my desktop pc at work when I am offsite and was hoping that someone could tell me what would be important condsiderations for a new laptop. Graphics card? good network card? I currently have a Linksys WRT54GS router at home. Is that sufficient?

    TIA.

There is usually a minimum requirement chart that will tell you what you'll need to run a VPN.Most notebooks that you will purchase can do this,I would say a 1.6Ghz cpu and a 10/100 network card will do, gfx's cards have really nothing to do with the connection. And as long as your router supports VPN it will work, and your does.

The most limiting part is your uplink speed. Since most residential DSL are only 256-512mbps. It will act like dialup service.
