I have been given a Cisco Aironet 1100 Wireless Access Point today. Are these any good for use in a home environment? I have a Linksys BEFSX41 Router that is kinda new. Is it easy to connect the WAP to a router? I had just bought a DLink DI-524 Router last weekend that I might bring back if this WAP is worth it. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated!

i've never used an 1100 series AP but the 1200 series worked great and since CISCO makes some of the best networking equipment I would bet that you can get better performance hooking that up to your current router than adding a wireless router to your setup

the Cisco will certainly be better than the d-link...to add the WAP to your current wired network, simply plug in the network port (not to be confused with the Console port) of the WAP to one of the LAN ports on your router.

Thanks for the replies! I had feeling it would be worth it to take the cisco wap. I'm going to play around with it tonite and this weekend. I'll post some comments after I have played with it in case anyone is interested.
