my work need me to be oversea often. At 1 office that i visit connect me to there server, anyway, for me to use the inter net, i have to setup the proxy, which is fine. but for my email, i am having problem, it blocked my pop3 and smtp? The IT said he already open up the port and allow the pop3 and my smtp from the server, so how come i still can't check my mail? i am fine once i am back to the hotel. as is just normal internet.

any advice would be very helpful.

    Many thx.

Somewhere else, like a network box on your end, is probably blocking those ports. Especially if it works in the hotel.

Use gmail it interfaces with outlook with out issues. A friend of mine uses outlook too, and it's the only one says works. So if you can use email forwarding if your current accounts supports it.
