Is it possible to change/upgrade the wireless hardware features on most laptop/notebook computers? Most laptops don't come with 802.11 N, which is a feature I want. Is it possible to change the internal wireless hardware or do you just have to buy a computer that comes with it?

which notebook do you have? It is usually easier just to buy a wireless card for the express card slot... or USB.

In General YES, but you may only have 2 antenna vs 3. Some of the 11n cards are over size so you may need to know if you have any extra room for added card length and thickness.

You can always use a mcmci/pcie card if you have the external slot.

I realize it is easier to just put in a card, but, quite honestly, I have been using an external wireless card for the last four years and it is pain in the ass. It also seems like it doesn't run nearly as fast as integrated wireless.
