Hi I need some help with my wireless connection. I'm using a DSL modem on the main computer which is connecter to my netgear router. I connect through the ethernet, and can login to my router and use internet on the main computer fine with it. But on my laptop i'm unable to get on the internet with wireless. I get an excellent signal connection and it says i'm connected to the netgear router. I dont understand why it would say I cant find a connection online.

Do you have WEP enabled? If so, the notebook needs the proper key.

Actually I recommend disable WEP on bothend, if you have problem with the connectivity. Well, basically don't enable stuff you don't need, and drop everything all the way back to the default and start from there. Most of the time, people can get into router before they start changing thing that they don't understand, and the end result is that they can't get in anymore.

Try this link, it has good instructions on how to setup a wireless network. Maybe you just forgot something.

Are you using Windows XP? Insert the Windows XP CD and choose Perform Other Tasks. At the next screen choose setup a home network (or something like that) and follow the steps. You have to do it on both machines. Mine didn't work either until after I did that.
