    Hi,
I am facing a problem with my Dell Studio 1537 - Vista Home premium -
Intel (R) Wifi 5100 AGN Wireless adaptor.

It can see the wilress networks in range, but cannot connect to any of them.

But when I install an external USB Wireless adaptor, that can connect well.

I had posted in another forum for help, and they gave me some solutions, but none of them work. The details are in the link
    http://forums.techguy.org/networking/836060-problem-wireless-connectivity.html

Can any of you gus here help me out with this??

you never posted back to the last post

I don't want you to just disable the mcafee firewall, I want you to completely freaking obliterate it! With all due prejudice!

    KILL KILL KILL KILL it

Go into START > CONTROL PANEL > PROGRAMS AND FEATUREs and select anything that even remotely looks like Mcafee and uninstall it.

    Reboot.

Download the Mcafee removal tool from here:

    http://majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html

    Reboot.

Download the most current drivers for your wireless adapter (5100) from intel

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=3062&lang=eng

Go into START > CONTROL PANEL > PROGRAMS AND FEATUREs and select anything that even remotely looks like DELL WIRELESS CONNECTION TOOL and uninstall it.

    Reboot

    Go to Device manager.

right click your 5100 wireless adapter, choose UNINSTALL...when the dialogue box shows up, CHECK the box that says DELETE DRIVERS FOR THIS DEVICE

When it is done, it will ask you to reboot. Do so

When it reboots, if a ADD HARDWARE WIZARD starts, cancel it.

Run the INTEL wireless install you downloaded above.

Use Windows Wireless Connection tool, not the Dell stuff.
