Recently, things have been going a bit haywire with my connectivity.

Before, everything was working smoothly with this notebook, along with the connection. I could find my network (lets call it "X" for now), type in the WEP key, etc.

Then, connection ceased. Though the computer connecting directly to the router (yes, I own the router/network/etc.) could still connect to the internet, wireless networking was failing. I tried to reset the router (or modem; not sure what to call it), but after that, I couldn't even find my network. I called Charter, and they created a new network for me.

Yes - the days past with a good connectivity, but the near-exact same thing happened again, though, this time, it forced me out of the network as apparently, the network wouldn't even allow anyone to wirelessly connect. So - I reset it again, and again, I can't find my network. I tried to manually connect, typing all the information in, blah... but it says "A network called X already exists". Options are to either "Use the Existing Network" or "Choose a Different Name". Choosing "Use the Existing Network" just takes me back to the "Connect to a network" dialog, where I can't find the network.

I tried DNS flushings, IP renewings, et cetera. I'm currently connecting directly to the router/modem/whatever it's to be called, but... I'd rather I have the wireless network, and ah...

Calling Charter again would just seem repetitive. I'd much rather try to find a solution myself.

What's the make/model of the computer, and what OS, incl. SP, is it running? Does this happen with all wireless networks, or just with your own home network?
