    Hi;
I have a notebook Dell Latitude D600. I'm getting some problem with connecting with my access point. My access point frequency is set to channel 13, but it doesn't detech this network.
Note that before its its channel was 11 and this was working fine, but not working with channel 13. I also tested that with another same notebook of my friend with same spec, its working fine on that notebook with channel 13 too.
I'm not sure what could be the reason, i can't find any option from where i can set its frequency etc. I'm thankful to all you very much for having time for my post.
    Adnan.

    Channels 1-11 are US.
    Channels 12-14 are non-US.

See if there's a setting in your wireless card's Device Manager window to set country.

Yes if you change your channel back to 1 to 11 you'll be fine, and it's a good ideal to use a channel that isn't so populated with other nodes. So download something like netstumbler and run a scan to see what channels are less used.

No. When using Infrastructure mode, the channel is set on the wireless access point. If your wireless card in your laptop is set to U.S. in Device Manager, it'll only use Channels 1 to 11.

Why don't you just bring the access point down to a channel between 1 and 11? Dell probably took out the option to change the country in your wireless card driver.

My access point is connected to a parent access point and its frequency is 13 and me is set to 'AP Repeater' mode. So when i change frequency it automatically reset it to 13.

Download the latest Intel driver, uninstall your current driver, install the Intel driver, go to Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), double-click on your wireless card, go to Advanced tab, see if there's a Country option listed in the Properties: window. If there is, select a European country.

Do you have a Regional Domain option in the Properties: window?

I don't know what to tell you then. I'm thinking it's reading your region from Windows now.

From what I have read from the on going problem, is this all started when you change to ch 13. Ch 13 is not allowed in the US, FCC reg. I would change every thing back and see if it starts working again. Note: Some routers and AP require a reboot for all of the settings to take. Did the AP loose the security association with the router?

Country is non-us, so channel 13 allowed. There is no security issues etc and I already described another same notebook of my friend is working but me is not working with ch 13.

Everything seems to be up to speed maybe trying a different Non-US channel would correct the problem.

Introduction: Dell Wireless WLAN Card User Guide
Types of Wireless Networks . Access point and ad hoc networks should be configured to use the non-overlapping channels 1, 6, 11 or channel 14 when outside of the United States for optimal performance for 802.11b or 802.11g networks. Channels 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 are overlapping channels and could reduce your performance due to interference.

I just pulled this up from the user manual for dell wireless hope this can shed some light on the situation good luck.
