Today my wireless stopped working. I can usually bring my laptop to my next room away from the modem and it will work but today it didn't. Now it doesn't even work in the room with the modem, my wireless does not connect to my modem like it used to! I used to be able to turn on my switch (wireless) but it just doesn't work. :(

When I view all my networks, it shows me 2 networks, linksys and NETGEAR. linksys is connected with limited access and when I try to connect to NETGEAR it says there is a problem even after I entered the WEP key

Connect to your router via ethernet cable; you can check all of the settings and make sure nothing changed. It sounds like the router dumped all custom settings and went back to default.

Wireless G ADSL Gateway Linksys netgear, whats a mode combo?

When I first got my laptop (a few weeks ago) it automatically connected to the modem via wireless. I can use my ethernet cable but I got my laptop for portability ;) so it does defeat the purpose. Still, I'm quite ticked off by the fact it decided to stop working <_<

Yes, I understand you want wireless. Connecting via cable is a troubleshooting step. If the router dumped the settings, that's the only way to get in and fix them.

Try resetting the router by turning it off and then back on. Sometimes they just need that.

Okay so how do I fix them if I don't know what my previous setting that allowed the wireless to work?

Would I be able to reformat my vista so all the settings will go back to working? Can I use a different vista like vista ultimate?

Vista dose not like wep, you need to be WPA(2).
