Currently using a Belkin Pre-N wireless router connecting to Cox via a Motorolla SB5120 modem. After coming back from standby, both the new T60 and the PC across the house will "connect" back to the router, and be able to ping it. However, they won't be able to connect to the internet- pinging the common sites (like google) fails, as does trying to load them in a web browser.

The things in common to both computers are the above pieces of equipment as well as Zone Alarm. Anyone out there have any ideas?

I would start by temporarily removing Zone Alarm and seeing if the problem persists. I've read other posts about ZA causing such issues. Check out the ZA site and see if this has been reported.

For anyone else who has this issue:

Zone Alarm Console->Firewall Control->Main tab->Advanced and turn on the "Allow outgoing DNS/DHCP in Internet Zone on High setting".

You'd think it'd be easier to find the answer, but it's not. There's actually only a few posts on it on the ZA forum.

@volta06- sygate may have a similar setting, which could be it.

Idk if its my firewall, because even when I manually select "allow all," it still occasionally does it.
