    What up, peoples!
Well, i lefts weet ol' oklahoma and curently am in ny. well, people i'm staying with have a wireless connection around the house. their laptop can perfectly conenct to the wireless router, unlike mine. I can see all the available connections inluding theirs, but can't connect to it. It's a secured connection and i do have a 26 number code, yet neither wzc, nor dell's wireless utility can connect to it. i don't even get a connection error or anything. any ideas on that? the router is netgear wgr614v2, and i have a dell 1390 mini-card.

    thank you all,

    BiG_V

It would have been nice if mine was easy like that. I have to add the mac address to the list and then configure adapter from the laptop.

why(how) do u need to configure it?

oh and by the way, every now and then when there's too much connectiopns going on, the router or the modem(maybe even both) fail to work properly and i lose my internet connection?! especially while using programs such as utorrent and others. while i can use mozilla's downlosder and dnload some stuff, i don't seem to be able to use utorrent for more than couple of minutes... i upgraded the router to the latest firmware from netgear, but that didn't seem to resolve the issue. the cable modem is toshiba pcx2500, if that makes any difference. i also tried to enable port forwarding for utorrent, but that didn't help....still lose the connection. do u think it's the router/modem that can't handle it, or what?
    appreciate, guys...

hey, guys, i'm also thinking about buying a new router for them. what would be a decent one?
p.s. i don't wanna buy a router and later find out it was the modem that was screwing up...any way to check it?
