    Hi Guys

So I reformatted my laptop and the first thing I try to do was trying to get on the internet though my ethernet port but it wouldn't connect.

It keeps saying Unidentified Network, Access Limited Connectivity

I try windows diagnose and repair but nothing

Oh and my OS is vista 32-bit

    Please help

Most likely, when you reformatted you lost your network settings. Check the port - does the green light come on when you plug the cable in? If so then it's detecting the network. If no green light then try re-installing the drivers. They should be on the disk your laptop came with.

If you do have a green light then you need to configure your network settings. By default it should try for automatic network connection. Set it to all automatic and try again. If that's failing then you need to speak with whoever set up your network or your ISP.

How did you get on here to post with no network? If you have another computer available, just google this issue. It's not a hardware problem, it's a common network problem.

Do you have and ! or ? in your device manager? Did you load the chipset?

Post your results from "msconfig /all" so we can see whats happening. The main numbers we need to see are the IP, Gateway and DNS servers.
