I just got a new Y530 Lenovo laptop. When I try to connect it to my router, it kicks my Gateway off and resets router. When I disconnect one laptop the other will work just fine. I have been reading other threads about this , but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

    Both are running Windows Vista-32.

What is the make and model of the router, and how old is it. Also, what is the make and model of the Gateway?

    Router - D-Link DI-524. Probably 3 years old.
    Laptop 1 - Gateway MT6456
    Laptop 2 - Lenovo Y530 4051

It could be the router itself. Do you get this behavior if you try to connect a second computer other than your new Lenovo?

Nope. I have connected my 360, different cell phones, and other laptops no problem.

Turns out it was the laptop itself. Had to uninstall the drivers and reinstall new ones using a USB Drive. It's a common problem with the Lenovo Y530

That's queer; glad you got it sorted out, though - congrats! :)
