I have a desktop running XP Pro SP2 sharing a Samsung ML-2010 laser printer. I tried adding it to my laptop running Vista Home Premium using the port changing trick and while it's trying to add it I get a "spooler service" error. It says either the spooler service is not running or it needs to be restarted, although prior to adding the spooler service is running. I also tried the NetMagic program people said did wonders for them but I get the same error. I have the Vista drivers for my printer as well.

Have you tried "net start spooler" in a command prompt?

Yeah it says already started. After I try installing the print, it gives me the error, then I try the "net start spooler" command and it says "starting" and then "successful" so for some reason installing a network printer makes the spooling service stop.
