This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Can i safely close these ports?

    I did a port scan on my desktop computer and had 3 open ports. Can i safely disable them?

    They are:
    135 epmap
    139 netbios-ssn
    445 microsoft-ds

    It is running Vista Business btw. Thanks for the help.

    windows will open 139 for netbios, the same for the other ports, if they are opened it must be for a reason.
