    Can connect to network but not Internet?

    I'm on an Inspiron 1520 on Vista and I can connect to the wireless network just fine with excellent connectivity, but for some reason, Vista doesn't go the extra step and connect to the Internet.

    What's up?

    How do you connect to the internet? do you have a router? is the DHCP server turned on? does vista show the right IP address. right click on the connection and go to status and then support. what does it say there?

    Very astute! DHCP is on, but the IP address it's showing is not the correct address. How do I fix this?

    It was so much easier in XP. :p

    EDIT: I'm terribly sorry, I forgot to answer your first question. I connect to the Internet via a wireless router which connects me (theoretically) to the Internet.
