    Hey Guys,

Was wondering if anyone could recommend me a wireless card that can use an external antenna (like a cantenna or yagi)?

I'm not sure what I should be looking for specifically, and I don't want to buy something and find it's not suitable lol.

Given a recent post, I feel I should probably provide an explanation for my motivations:

Recently moved into a student accommodation, and they been "in the process of" setting up wifi for the last... 8 months? (Yay government facilities lol).

I spoke to the manager and she had no problem with me using the library network from my room, but unfortunately the signal doesn't reach my block.

She said the guy in the room underneath mine had asked her about it, and that he'd run a cat5 cable straight from his room to the library.

That said, that'd be a pain in the butt, and it's a rough sorta place, so I'd rather not pay for ninety metres of cable, only to have it destroyed/nicked.

So I figure that my best bet is to stick a cantenna onto the wall next to my window (second floor), and use the existing library wireless.

As little as possible =S - Apprentice wages and all lol.

How much do I have to spend to get something reliable but not extravagant?

Also, re your sig, that's quite impressive.

    Thanks

    You can try this one.

If you need more range you might have to get one of these.

    Cheers.

Might go for the Hawking, since I'll be pulling off the stock antenna anyway.
