Can Vista actually identify an 'N' network.......When you connect to a 'B' or 'G' one, Vista's popup will identify the network type ie secured/unsecured & if it's a 'B' or 'G'......if it can't, how do you know if you've successfully connected to a draft 'N'.

Also, how can I test the connection speed....when I do a search for something on the net all I find is software for testing internet connections
    Thanks

Connection speed is shown under the connection status. If you are seeing more than 54 Mbps then that has to be either N or a souped-up version of G.

Connection is based on the wireless card. If your card and AP supports it (11n), yes.
