Hey guys, my gf has a G wifi card in her laptop, at least I believe she does. She does a lot of streaming videos on her laptop and I was wondering that since I have N wireless router that maybe I could upgrade her card to N aswell to make the connectivity faster.
I don't know if there is a big difference between G and N, but I hope it's noticible.
I noticed this in classifieds section http://forum.notebookreview.com/com...-fs-9-intel-6300-ultimate-wifi-n-cards-2.html

here's a pic of her HP dv3t wifi card

Sure it can be updated but I'm not sure if it's gonna have any visible affect.
802.11g achieves some 20mbps of real throughput which is more than enough unless we're talking uncompressed HD content.

Another thing- you won't be able to achieve 450mbps connection unless you have three antennas and a 450mbps router- other than that it's going to be limited to 300mbps (or less- depending on the router)

Anyway- it can be done but makes more sense to buy Intel 6200 (it's cheaper) and all of this makes sense only if she has an N capable router.
