I just ordered a sager np9150, and am wondering if i can upgrade the wireless card aftermarket without any ill effects.
I was thinking about upgrading from stock to the Intel wireless n 6300.
I Think that's dual band? while i'm guessing stock is single band?
Will i still get dual band if i install the card myself?
Will any 6300 card work? or will i need a specific model number

Yes to all questions except for the last one- all but Lenovo cards will work.

Cards meant for Lenovo notebooks are (almost) always advertised as such.
These don't work in non-Lenovo notebooks but at the same time Lenovo notebook owners need specifically those cards- so it's explicitly stated.

For the Intel 6300 to perform best it should have the 3rd antenna attached and be connected to a 450Mbps dual band router.

If only 2 antennas are attached it will be the same as having a 6205 or the 6230/6235 bluetooth models.

Naturally there's a lot of other things that are in play when configuring a wireless network setup to get the best with what you have.
