    I have windows xp professional and want to share my ethernet connection. Is this possible?

    I connect my computer to the internet by use and share my internet to another computer by connecting it with and ethernet cable

    if you can find software to turn your computer into a switch or hub, maybe. but i would assume if you could and keyword could, i'm sure you'd take a nice performance hit. and i'm just saying maybe. i don't know either way.

    I know that I can connect via usb but I dont know if I can share it via ethernet

    Why not just buy a cheap wired router?

    Not sure I really understand your question but to hook up two comps without a router, you need to have two nics in the main computer and a cross over cable going to the second one. The main computer must be on to use the internet on the second one.

    And, last but not least, not only do you need two interface adapters, you need to bridge them. This is most often seen in notebooks that have wireless and wired ethernet. Each adapter connects to a separate network, and by means of bridging the two adapters, the networks can talk to each other.

    Turn on ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), then share the connection through your wireless either to one person (ad hoc) or through an access point to many.
