    I know they use different frequencies (2.4GHz vs 5.0GHz) and so I just want to make sure that my laptop will support it.

    Also, will I be able to get a Mini PCI-e card or will only a Mini PCI work?

    They use the same frequencies. Also Mini PCI is not compatible with Mini PCI-E.
