I live in an area where they don't provide broadband yet so I'm stuck with 56k. I was wondering if it was at all possible to connect my Laptop to the internate wirelessly. I own a:
    Toshiba Tecra M4
    PM 2.0GHz
    Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG (802.11b/g)
    Bluetooth® (Ver 2.0 + EDR)
    Dell Dimension 8100
    P4HT 3.0GHz
(Standard Network Card and Modem)(Not integrated)
I haven't bought a wireless router yet becouse i'm not sure if this will work. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

in theory it should work, but the computer you connect to, would have to have a 56K modem. I dunno tho, i have never tried it.

You should be able to enabled Internet Connection Sharing which is included with Windows XP to share your 56K modem internet connection along with a wireless network device for your desktop. The only problem I see with this is the fact that you have to leave you desktop on 24/7 otherwise you won't be abel to get internet access whenever you want on the notebook. Getting the h/w that Brian suggested may be a good choice as well, no need for the computer to be on 24/7.
