Some buddies of mine got Cable High Speed Internet and they are using an Ambit Cable modem in their house. Some of them are in school and they want to have wireless internet for their laptops and what not. Here is where the problem begins... We are having trouble connecting our Linksys Wireless router to our cable modem. Generally what I have done in the past is connect a wireless router to a DSL modem and bam you got wireless internet however, we can't even connect the router to the cable modem because the cable modem only has 1 ethernet port. I am pretty sure that we have to buy additional equipement but I have no idea what we need to get this wireless internet up and running. I have never had to deal with cable internet before and I was on hold for 2 hours with our cable company. Can someone please help?

When I had a cable modem it had one ethernet port to connect it to a computer (or a router) and one coax for "in" signal.
Looked sth like this: http://personal-computer-online.com/wp-content/uploads/image/cable modem.gif
(USB is optional)
How does it compare to your modem? -
You plug your router into the single ethernet port on the Cable modem and go from there. Setup your router.

The ethernet out of your modem connects to the wwan input on the Linksys Wireless router, you then have 4 wired outputs + the wi-fi output
Then you configure the Linksys to clone mac address if needed and the other settings needed to connect
You internet service provider will have that info on their website ,or you can call their helpdesk
