    Hello all,

I have a bit of a problem. Whenever I try to play Counter Strike: Source, my wireless connection drops for a few mins, then reconnects. But whenever I am not playing it does not drop, and runs fine. I have an emachines desktop..not sure which model....didn't really bother looking since i got it for free. And I've had a Belkin router and Belkin wireless usb adapter for a while. I installed CS today, and it just wont let me play for longer than 5 mins. Any help is appreciated.

The first thing I would do is to update your firmware for the router. If it's possible?

ok, still the same problem with forwarded ports and updated firmware.

One thing I noticed was when playing cs, the activity for the wireless adapter was really high. The light was blinking really fast.
could it be possible that my wireless adapter just isnt fast enough?

If you are using WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration), disable it and use the drivers that came with your card. It is known for temporarily dropping signal when doing a refresh on scans.

I have WZC disabled, and I am using the supplied software/drivers that came with the card. My signal drops while I am playing the game. The player freezes in one spot and doesn't move, and the other players are stuck in one position. Then after about 10-15 seconds, it says connection to the server has been lost. And my connection doesnt drop during scans, it actually goes up to 29k servers.

I have yet to find anything Belkin makes that does not lockup or handle heavy loads. I quite installing them after 2 bad in a row and one was wired. That was 5 yrs go. Apparenty it still holds true.
