I have a question about using a Aus laptop in China, my parents tried to use the net over there by connecting to the hotel internet connection Via Ethernet Port, they were unable to connect to the net and a person from the hotel said that since the laptop is a Aus built one it need a adaptor to be able to work in China is that correct? As I thought net was the same no matter where. If it is could some link me to what my folks need to use the net? As I thought net was the same no matter where

I'm sure the laptop can connect its just that the hotel's web page pops up to ask guests who want to connect to pay up...before they're able to connect to the web.
