    i have a old desktop, one of the dimension desktops i had purchased from dell years ago...it runs very smooth actually, and web browsing is smooth as well from my SBC YAHOO provider...i purchased the "deluxe or premium" w.e plan that guarantees ATLEAST 3MB of downloading speed....i have never experienced downloading speed even close to that..EVER...it usualy stays around 120kb per sec....i am very confused....its realli not that big of a problem since i dont dl at all anymore...but i have just purchased a new laptop, should arrive here sometime next week...i am going to do a lot of downloading and stuff..i was hoping i could get this issue fixed n get my moneys worth...by the way here is my new laptop stats..uh i hope this helps wit anytin? lol

    120gb HD
    Blue tooth technology
    Dell wirelness network card..the one thats compatible wit 801.11g or w.e router...
    n den that fast router thats backward compatible wit the network card..i forgot the name..sometin WN835B or w.e...i ono i forgot...alrite any comment or help would be greatly appreciated..or maybe someone can explain to me what i should do to achieve that dl speed..thanks in advance!

    also the 3MB bandwidth and the downloading.speed can be quite mis.understood - it is all depending on the host.servers, the time of day, the area of ur home to support the full "advertised" speed

    You said very old dell. If it's running Win98 it was never design for networking. So it performace is not very good.
